Introducing DPHH After Five

New Event: DPHH® After Five!

We're responding to popular demand here, people. Many of you have asked for a DPHH that's actually during happy hour. Some of you are DPHH veterans who are looking for a different crowd. Some of you simply don't want to stay out late on a Friday night. To meet the ever-changing needs of our fast-growing deaf and hard-of-hearing professional community, we're kicking off DPHH After Five!

This new event will take place on the third Thursday of the month, and because we expect turnout to be smaller, we'll get to explore new and hip bars and lounges that wouldn't be possible with our regular DPHH events. Also, because it's right after work, most DPHH After Five events will take place in or near downtown. The time is 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Stop by for a drink on your way home, or stick around for dinner - it's up to you.

The only requirements are: (1) Bring yourself, and (2) Bring your business card! DPHH After Five isn't just for socializing; it's also for networking with other deaf and hard-of-hearing professionals.

And where is our first DPHH After Five event?
Poste at the Hotel Monaco
Thursday, May 18, 5:00-7:30 PM
555 8th St NW, Washington, DC 20004
Metro: Gallery Place-Chinatown (Red, Yellow, Green)

How do you find out about future DPHH After Five events? Through this e-mail list or through DeafDC.com Blog! Make sure your friends are on this e-mail list, so that they're in the loop, too. And don't worry--we'll always be hosting our regular DPHH events on the first Friday of the month. June'll be at Dr. Dremo's Taphouse in Arlington.

Gallaudet Articles

Hard to believe what just happened in the past two weeks, no? The world heard Gallaudet once again as hundreds of students, faculty, staff, and alumni turned out to protest the Board of Trustees' selection of their next president. Dr. Jane Fernandes. DeafDC.com got caught up in the controversy, too, churning out more than two dozen articles on the topic. We've created a special page to hold all these blogs: http://www.deafdc.com/blog/gallaudet. Enjoy!

DPHH May Photos
