DC Assocation for the Deaf
- About DCAD
|
In the 1960s, several deaf leaders including William Stevens, Jerry Jordan and Frederick Schrieber founded the District of Columbia Association of the Deaf (DCAD). In the 1980s, Walt Brown, Barbara Kannapell, John Lopez and Marla Hatrak revived the organization. The basic purpose of the organization is to empower Deaf people and to foster the relationship between the DC Government and the Deaf community.
