Look at Russia...even with high-minded socialist ideals, there was still a huge difference between the rich and the poor in Russia. The socialist regime didn't remove the concept of rich, middle, poor classes at all.

And you notice that all the "aid"-type concerts intended to raise money for homeless, for Ethopia, for farms, etc etc...ultimately didn't make any dent in alleviating these problems!

Lastly, Bill Gates has donated a huge chunk of his fortune to schools (via his company and/or foundation), and yet overall, there are still many schools that continue to need more money, equipment, teachers, etc.

All the money in the world isn't going to solve all problems.

Oops. I was repeating what a guy told me about Mini Coopers...I just checked the Mini Cooper website, and you're right, it's 40 MPG for highway and 32 MPG for city, which is still pretty high.

Maybe it was for some other car and my brain couldn't remember what car it was. Oh well.

Well well well... I see all the people fantasizing about what they would buy with $10 million... interesting how they'd be buying stuff for THEMSELVES.

Some say they would only buy what they need. That's good. What about what to do with the leftover money? Well, ever think about philanthropic activities??

That's what's wrong with a system that allows people to accumulate too much money, they keep it for themselves while others starve. Socialists have something to say about that, in making sure all the people have at least their most basic needs satisfied. But in order to do that, put a floor on poverty, there needs to be a ceiling placed on wealth. That way, the wealth in society can be distributed more fairly.

And go ahead, call me a pinko commie!

100 MPG???? Never heard of that! I read that the older models only got about 28 MPG, now the newer ones can get up to 40, but only because a lighter alloy is being used to make the engines.

I'd be happy with four or five-bedroom house, since I have a 2-year old son and a husband, and I'm 4 months pregnant. So four or five bedrooms will do. I just don't want to get a mansion or make it very obvious that I've got ten million. I'd rather get small luxuries for the *inside* of the house...e.g., a hot tub and a sauna, rather than *outside* of the house.

Somebody posted in here saying she wanted a Mini Cooper...if I wasn't going to have two little kids, I'd also get one, primarily because of its excellent gas mileage (you can get 100 MPG on it!) and its overall cuteness. But it's just too small for toting around two little ones. I'd be happy with a PT Cruiser or something like that.

And who would buy a steel box to hammer in a seat? My butt already hurts just from the IDEA of sitting on a roughly shaped chair with pointy edges that may give hemmoroids and cuts. Good god.
