LOOK AT ME!!! said it once, i'll say it again, this is all just a way to revive DPN in another form. the opposition hasn't got a clue why they are protesting, and I've read several blogs over the past few months. Stick to your studies will yah? pop out a couple of kids raise em and give them the best opportunities you can. Keep your fingers out of MY honeypot! comprende-le?

1. Board of Trustee governs Gallaudet University.
2. Jordan had 20 years,Psychology professor, time to learn and mold whos who on Board of Trustee.
3. When Jane was hired, she was smart to ensure there is clause in contract of acceptance for compensatory of accepting resignation.
4. Gallaudet may not have budget to compensate for Jane resignation.
5. However unpopular, BOT insisted on Jane as next president, Student took action in the best interest of Gallaudet University.
6. In 1988 when BOT elected Zinser, student protested and Zinser resigned gracefully and their education moved on. Now 2006 protest, Jane steadfastly refuse to resign, hence the protest.

Case in point: University President designate should have enough intelligence that if unpopular or protest resulted in elected by Board of Trustee - (resulted in campuswide distruption) At what point should the elected president announce her resignation? What makes her think when she begins her job in Janurary, Gallaudet University operation will be hunky-dory? Students, staff, parents and faculties from Gallaudet and nationwide expressed their voice and thoughts. She havent even begun her job as president. Does one need intelligence to compute what the effects will be when she begin her job in Janurary??

I'm not sure where the number is for how many Americans voted. Maybe it's from watching too many rallies and lack of sleep...

Newbie, you're singing my song. Exactly what I have said and felt all along. Here are some questions to consider: Did you know that the ASL Department at Gallaudet few years ago voted unanimously to grant JKF tenure? Did you know that several of those very same faculty in the ASL Department are now protesting her? Did you know that MJ Bienvenu tutored JKF in ASL and deaf culture? I'm still waiting for an answer as to how these deaf militants ever allowed this to happen, if JKF is so awful. And since everyone is lambasting JKF's poor ASL skills, use of sim-com, and lack of understanding of Deaf culture, how come no one is pointing the finger at Professor Bienvenu? Doesn't it seem to you like she did a poor job in her tutoring? Is MJ the chair of the ASL Department or Deaf Studies Department at GU? And then people turn around and criticize Brenda Brueggemann for her lack of ASL skills and understanding of Deaf culture, and she is the chair of the ASL department at Ohio State. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I'm in a Kafka novel -- nothing makes sense.

Exactly. Each time I hear one of these stories, I find myself disappointed and disheartened in how the other side of the story is not presented. 98% of the testimonials I have read out there are biased, opinated, and not at all factual. They speak only of the action, the felt grief and then subsequent consequences through which the narrator was "forced to absorb"; nowhere do we ever see the actual rationale behind the decision (made by the administration), and yet we freely assume on their behalf. I think it is extremely unfair of us to judge JKF on any of her actions without hearing her side of the story regarding these specific incidents.

I never went to Gally, so I do not know much about the funding issues. Who cares if she get $2million if she were to go? She probably will spend it fast! And who cares if she stay... you should be out of Gally in four years or less..and start becoming a member of the board at Gally. Now, is Gally funded by Congress? Isn't there certain procedure when being funded by Congress, ie who set the rules and established them on Gally campus, Mssd, and Kendall? It seems so, since the school were built together to control you! Gally should start shutting down MSSD and Kendall and est their own locations like other deaf school in the world..lively independent and freely from the government. Again, where is your leader? Im been watching the news..... and hoping for a leader to pop up in the spotlight!

testing_the truth...what are u talking about?? I'll probably graduate before you will.. and if you already a graduate then get a life will ya.

The federal government does not force anyone to retire. That would be age discrimination.

There may be exceptions for certain areas of law enforcement.

Come to think of it, is there anything Jane Fernandes did since January or so, that would show she is a poor choice for President? Some decision that she made on her own? Some things people are throwing out go back to 1996! Get real! That was 10 YEARS ago. I have been looking through the stuff, and in most instances no recent dates are given.
