It’s that time of year again, the biggest DPHH of the fall slate! We’re hosting the September DPHH at the Washington Harbor, with a new, unprecedented twist: choices galore! Meet at the water fountain that is adjacent to our usual location and have your pick of the bars that encircle it. Last September, a happy group of DPHHers docked their boat at the Harbor and came ashore to join in the fun. If you have a boat, avoid the road traffic and take the water route for a fun evening (be sure to exercise caution, just as you would on the road)!
The outdoor waterfront/patio area is serviced by establishments which you can choose from, such as Tony & Joe’s outdoor bar, Nick’s Riverside Grill, Cabanas, and Sequoia. The waterfront provides a spectacularly dazzling view of the Potomac, the Kennedy Center, Key Bridge, and Washington Monument among other District fixtures. While you enjoy that ice-cold beer, or the tasty flavors of your favorite drink, you’ll have a nice background to rest your eyes on, before someone spots you and chats you up!
The nearest Metro is the Foggy Bottom stop on the Orange/Blue lines. From Union Station, you can take the D.C. Circulator Bus which traverses the city directly from Union Station to points along K Street in Georgetown. One of its two Washington Harbor stops will leave you with an easy eight-minute down 25th or 27th street stroll to the waterfront!
Nearest Metro: Foggy Bottom (Orange/Blue Lines)

FYI, the nearest Metro would be Foggy Bottom on the Orange/Blue lines, not Rosslyn.
Vikki,
You are right, will modify the announcement…see you there!
Could the pictures at http://www.dphh.com be like it was at http://www.dcdeaf.com? Scrolling for example instead of opening each picture one by one…..
Thor,
It scrolls automatically…did you try using it with Firefox?
LOL…good story…there are always some bad apples that spoil the juice. And your ASL glossies on point…I could actually see how it was signed out. Crazy!
DC DPHH coordinator should change the location of the Georgetown Harbor to the Woodrow Wilson International Plaza (WWI) between 13th and 14th Street, NW which the Federal Triangle Metrorail station is right next to the Plaza. The 30s bus routes along the Pennsylvania Avenue, NW 1/4 block to the WWI Plaza.
This place is the largest outdoor patio - Aria Fresca which the superbu Italain restuarant = the Aria Trattario serve $6 panni sandwiches and good menu prices. The Quinzos Sub is one level below.
Two blocks from the Metro Center, Four blocks from Gallery Plaza-Chinatown Metrorail station. Much easier for Gallaudet students to get off 13th and H Street on X2,X4 and X6. Two blocks from the 13th and K Street, NW for the D2, D4 and D6.
Perfect backdrop of the White House (three blocks) and the glimpse of the U.S. Capitol for excellent conversations about the upcoming presidential election.
For more info, http://www.itcdc.com There will be the heavy rainpours this Friday evening as no place for many deaf people to run out for their hides from getting soggy wet. The Joe and Tony Seafood restuarant is too small for accompying more than 50 deaf people anyway.
We, deaf people could have the entire Woodrow Wilson International Plaza to ourselves. Access to the Georgetown Harbor is really difficult for anyone with wheelchair or anyone with foot or hip problems walking down the steep street from the M Street. Eight to ten blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metrorail station as compared to 1/3 block from the Federal Triangle Metrorail.
Food Court at the Ronald Reagan International Building will be closed at 7pm for budget-conscious deaf individuals. Very good deal for many deaf people as compared to the Georgetown Harbor.

Thanks for the info RLM, keep the suggestions coming.
So? What has been decided? Like the previous user said, there will be heavy rains due to TS……
Update on tonight’s tropical storm:

There is free validated parkings at the Woodrow Wilson International Plaza/Ronald Reagan building unlike the Georgetown Harbor.
Thanks for the compliment, Shane. :)

Is Georgetown Bus still running? They had a bus service from Foggy Bottom to K Street before turning into Wisconsin Ave.
Georgetown Metro Connection doesn’t run from Foggy Bottom to Wisconsin Avnenue anymore. The only line it runs is along M street from Dupont Circle to Rossyln Metro. You can get on the bus from Dupont Circle stop (about one block south of the south side of Dupont Metro exit) and get off at either the 29th or 30th street stop. Then walk about a block down towards the river.
Or you can take the DC Circulator bus from Union Station, with many stops along K street until it makes a left on 21st or 22nd Street. Then it crosses over the circle and continues down M street and makes a right on Wisconsin Avenue all the way until the Safeway store. But to go to the Waterfront, get off around 29th to 30th street and M and waltz down towards the river.
Waltz? Wanna meet me on 29/30 Street & M Stops and do some waltz dancing down to the river?
How about the tango? That’s more my speed…
Okay, I’ll do it….I’ll stop and get a rose.
I mean, I’ll stop by and buy a rose for us to tango!
LOL…a rose by any other name will smell just as sweet!
