Time to unleash your inner Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers! Hey dance-shy guys, if former NFL star Emmitt Smith and Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno can get it done on “Dancing with the Stars”, so can you! Next month’s DPHH is at Clarendon Ballroom which was voted “Best Dance Club” in washingtonpost.com’s Best Bets 2006 Readers’ Choice contest because of its swing dancing, live rock and DJs. It’s not just a dance club though, there’s an ultra-long bar for everyone who loves to jostle for some face-time with the bartender. While Virginia still likes her cigarettes slim, Clarendon Ballroom does not allow indoor smoking. Don’t despair smokers, if you need your fix, there’s a huge rooftop area with its own bar.
This gorgeous ballroom features hardwood floors that stretch to forever, impressive white archways, and elegant art deco touches. And those who went to the Sequoia DPHH will be thrilled to learn that Clarendon Ballroom is open til 2 am! There’s a very strict dress code, so dress to impress! For those who need it spelled out…no hats, tank tops, sneakers, jeans, t-shirts, flip-flops or anything like that. There will be a cover charge of $5 after 8 pm. You must be 21 and older to enter the club with a valid state or government issued photo ID.
Enough details, let’s go swingin’!

How come it wasn’t scheduled during the Gally HC weekend? That way, Gally alumni can get their ‘DPHH-fix’ when they fly in to DC. :) Ah well, there’s always next year.
Cousin Vinny,
Thanks for the suggestion. I would think that there are enough parties taking place on Homecoming weekend.
Dancing isn’t the same as a “party”…usually these days “parties” are all about heavy drinking, eating snacks and getting high.
Seems like a dancing event is a nice option for those who aren’t into heavy drinking, getting high etc.
Lock your women up! I am going to score, score, and score the night away. Yes, I’m the man that your mother warned you about.
Woo hoo!
Cousin Vinny, Good idea for having another DPHH during the Gally Homecoming like Friday evening. Why not! Any suggestion for a place to convenue??? Preferably the nearest proximity to Gallaudet campus like Captiol Hill or Union Station area.
Gallaudet surely have full of events within the homecoming weekend. Rathskellar bar would scream for Gally alumus’ dollars during the Friday evening.
I hope that the weather will be very nice and little breezy for next month’s DPHH at the Clarendon Ballroom. The rooftop balcony is very awesome. Just a half block from Clarendon Metrorail station.
