Happy New Year to all from everyone at DeafDC.com!
DPHH® has been in existence for nearly 12 years and one of the biggest complaints we received from attendees was that there is just too much smoke. Well, we’re happy to report that with the enactment of DC’s new smoking law, effective January 1st, DPHH® is now two thirds non-smoking. Virginia is still a chimney and has work to do.
And on that note, the first DPHH event of 2007 will be taking place at Finn MacCool’s on 8th Street SE in the Eastern Market area of Washington (it was moved a few steps down the street from the Ugly Mug). Thanks to global warming, the weather should be pretty good with forecasted temperatures in the 50s.
See you all there!

I am all for the smoke-free public places! I never really enjoy patronizing any places with smoke-filled atomspehre! We have to remmy that the DC bars still linger from the stench of smoking for few months.
Many American pubs and bars and other public places do not have the European-standard smoking fume cleaners. I never have any problems at the European pubs and bars and other public places. Europeans smoke heavily than Americans.

oh, my hopes of returning to smoke filled bars in DC are dashed. I’ve since quit smoking but it’s so great in a smoky bar (ambiance, ya know) and covers up the booze emanating through your skin pores.
