Boy, you’ve been a busy group of readers lately, haven’t you? DeafDC.com has received an extraordinary amount of comments over the last couple of weeks. We’re pleased that we could provide a platform for you to debate these important issues!
And now we’ve just improved your discussion experience:
- Nested Comments - Now you can reply to a specific comment and keep the discussion going. Your new comment will appear inside the comment you’re responding directly to. Give it a try! You can also expand or collapse comments by pressing the + or - icons.
- Subscribe to Comments - Now you’ll never miss another comment on a blog that you’re watching! When you comment, click on the “Notify me…” box. Then you’ll get an e-mail for every new comment that shows up after your comment.
Nice, huh? If you notice something funny, it could be a bug. Just e-mail us at info@deafdc.com and we’ll get right back to you. If you’ve got other ideas how we can improve your DeafDC.com Blog experience, let us know.

Love the nested comments! Still- would be nice if the original comments could somehow retain their number- because I often get messages saying “look at #55!” or something like that. Any way you can overcome that?
You’re right. We just noticed that. Hmm! We’ll try and fix that.
Julie, the new code doesn’t include the easy numbering of comments. Instead, we’ll have to use actual comment ID numbers (the comment number out of all the comments ever posted on DeafDC.com). For example, this comment is #2227.
This will break the pattern people have used in the last few days - and we apologize for that. We think the new features will make up for it!
Gotta admit the new format really isn’t to my liking. I just can’t find out what posts are new, thanks to new postings being nested deep in the page. With the previous ‘flat’ scheme, I could always find new messages.
love the changes :)
