Did everybody have a nice holiday? By “holiday,” we refer to, of course, Tax Day. April 15th is a muddled affair this year around because of several extenuating circumstances. DC residents have one more extra day to file their federal tax returns because our returns go to Massachusetts, which is celebrating Patriot’s Day today. The same goes for your district tax return, since today’s Emanicipation Day. Take some time off today to learn some history; our legislators demand it, apparently.

And speaking of history, last week on DeafDC.com saw quite a bit of activity. Adam’s post scolding Gallaudet students for lack of class during the Rockfest pep rally created a firestorm (by DeafDC.com standards, anyway) which spilled over into other blogs and the Express. Oscar encouraged everyone to take the high road in his post discussing civility, while Erin said it was always important to look your best, even if you find yourself at an out-of-control college pep rally. Julie remarked on her fear of snakes, and as if Gallaudet didn’t have enough to do recovering from RIT/Gallaudet weekend, the three finalists for the next university president were announced.

Coming up this week: more zaniness, courtesy of DeafDC.com. I bet you can’t wait.
