Newbie, Many people did not realize that IKJ did not really have the adminstrative experience back in last 18 years when he applied for the Gally presidency. Why should he?

The handful of deaf and hearing people including me said "What? IKJ - new Gally president?? Plz!" back in 1988. I never went to the Field House celebration on that evening for IKJ being selected as the 8th Prez.

Yes, the comparsion of Glenn Anderson with IKJ are still valid and logical. The present Gally BOT and IKJ keep saying "Jane Fernandes have the adminstrative experience, experience, experience". IKJ is real hyprocrite himself!

Look at the political or adminstrative apprenticeship which tend to be in very disappointing results!

I would not let IKJ and JK get away with their cheap shots on "deaf identity crisis" and "not deaf enough". I am not going to forgive either of them and the Gally BOTs. Those people hope that we would forget and move on. Nah! Too late!

You've said well, Ben.

By saying this, it is not to lessen my high regards for someone like Ron Stern, I still don't understand why Glenn Anderson and Roslyn Rosen weren't in the final 3, given their credentials.

It makes me wonder if Ron Stern and Fred Weiner were picked over them to make Fernandes the obvious choice at the end. It's hard to compete with people like Rosen and Anderson.

Kelleher's admin experiences should have hurt her rather than elevate her into victory. Her contempt to the Sacred Principles of Shared Governance

(expression borrowed from Patti Raswant http://www.aslcommunityjournal.com/blog/2006/09/11/why-i-support-the-protest-at-gally/)

and the evidences listed thereof and by Faculty Senate resolutions should have been a DISQUALIFYING FACTOR in assessing her application!! But it was not enough to convince the BoT.

Glenn Anderson truly came as a brave captain with superb credentials and potentials to save a sinking ship, what Gallaudet University became in the last 6 years. But what happened? Was he appreciated? Not, by any means! He was thrown out by the complacency of the doomed and now the 'happy ship' continues its sinking into to abyss. How nice it that?!

Hello Titanic, good to see'ya again... (eyes rolling with bitter irony)
