There are so many holes in your argument, I can hardly believe the effrontery involved.

Try to tell me with a straight face that you believe the selection process was a fair one and the Fernandes is the best choice to be president.

Please! Get honest with yourself. Quickly!

Bottom line, FSSA original leaders from the Faculty and Staff members who demand to have their social affiliation of oldest fraternity association to be Gallaudet President. Other two candidates are I believe member of that fraternity. Sigh!

I am an alumnus of Gallaudet from way, way back and I have been following just about everything that has been going on with this protest since before it started and up until now.

I was looking for something FACTUAL and RELEVANT beyond unpopularity regarding why JKF shouldn't be the next president of Gallaudet and I don't think there is any. I mean, the Board selected the finalist whom I, myself, decided was the best one even before they selected her for the job. I based my decision on her professional qualifications. The other two didn't quite match up, though they had some pluses that she didn't.

If the other two finalists were not the best there is, then that has to be proved, too. The field for such a high level job is definitely limited.

The protestors and some FSSAs have accused the Board of some "dirty" dealings that they can't prove. The student' slogan "Not Without Us!" is a noble one, but has no teeth and didn't count as an official vote. And I agree that they should not have such a vote. They have the right to disagree and protest within reason, but that's it.

In 1988, Zinser was smart and saw that the DPN was a civil rights protest and she graciously resigned. I think she had some presidential skills that Jordan didn't have. But her resignation took some real class and I have always respected her for that!

JKF sees no compelling reason why she should resign and such a resignation is the ONLY way the protestors and the Board can reverse anything. If I were her, i would not resign, either.

I sided with the protestors in the beginning, out of habit, I guess, but, as things progressed, I realized JKF's selection was legit. If Jordan recommended her, then why is that so strange to the protestors? In every job I ever applied for, I have always asked for a letter of reference from my boss. JKF has done the same thing and she got it and it seems to have helped.

So, I am still open to any factual and relevant information that will show there was something "fishy" with the search process and with the selection process.

Now, it remains to be seen if JKF can handle the job of president. She will be judged on that alone from here on. I had taken notice that the Faculty Senate voted "no confidence" and I took that at its face value. If JKF is indeed as incompetent as they say, then it should show in her performance hereafter.

Then the Board will have to decide what to do about her in such an eventuality.

Thanks for reading this far!

The "Art of War" book by Sun Tzu quotes, "The Moral Law causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger."

I can see that is not the case for JKF.

It's illegal to publicize the list of applicants, under the Right to Privacy Act. Besides, many job applicants already have a job, and don't want their current employer to know they're thinking about leaving.

It's up to each individual applicant to disclose (or not disclose) whether they applied for the position. It seems Tim Rarus recently made such an announcement,

Yeah, it's like "enrichment week(s)" - from the ground up, instead of "enrichment day" from the top down.
