Sharing this with DeafDC for our collective amusement — my first “deaf” spam (I don’t read spam so I might have gotten one before now, but this one slipped through Gmail’s spam filter…). Pasted verbatim, including errors.

Heh. I’m always getting those “I’m deaf and lonely. I want to date you.” email, both male and female. The delete key gets a healthy workout in these situations.
Sure is odd realizing so many scams came from Nigerians where many of the finest hard-working Gallaudet deaf came from and they put many Gallaudet Americans to shame when it comes to the bottom line! Degrees and work ethics in the aftermath! So much for Bilingualism which is all but talk if not for slivers of work ethic instilled!

It’s still definitely better than some of the messages previously sent to female bloggers. Not that I don’t enjoy being proposed to, but ..

yea i really hate else body who live in usa travel to nigeria ir africa or others country before someones from them got me they needs my helps pay to them of 1 for their dads’s money for the deaf or hoh sons abt his secuity bank in uk. but it really hard for me cant see them of one who love me for lifes.
