Well, when I read about these posts about hearing guys flirting with Deaf chicks.. I just had to smirk and roll my eyes.

A large percentage of hearing guys who want to learn ASL or date a Deaf gal, it's one thing on their mind.

Why is it so easy?

Okay, okay.. Fine! I'll paint a pretty <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/buy/deaf+girls/-/pv_design_details/pg_1/id_2180116/opt_/fpt_/c_/hlv_t" rel="nofollow">picture</a> for hearing men!

Hm - What about the other way around? deaf guys flirting with hearing? Tim brings up an interesting point: I had no problems dating or meeting hearing girls when it's easy to meet them like at a wedding or a casual dinner party but bars and coffee shops are another story. Then again, it may be like everyone else - we guys get awkward at these things just like hearing guys :-)

I agree with Erin.

It takes 3 seconds for a guy to know if he's attracted to a girl, so appearance and presentation are very important in most situations.

Don't fret... just because someone rejects a person because of his/her deafness does not mean that there aren't others out there that are not bothered by it. There was this episode once on Jerry Seinfeld Show when Jerry dates a deaf girl so it's not at all taboo.

Personally, I have dated several hearing girls without any problems. More than 85% said it was no big deal I couldn't hear even though they had to adjust initially.

I think as a visual person I do notice things more than my hearing counterpart would. Like I do notice all those things, the dirty hands, the way the guy is dressed. It may make me seem like I'm a superficial person, but appearance does make an impression.
